This policy says what you may and may not do with HopLogs. It is part of our terms of service. It applies to everyone on your account and to anything you configure the Service to do.
Only monitor what you are allowed to
- Add only targets (websites, domains, IP addresses, ports, mail servers) that you own, operate, or have written permission to test.
- Do not configure checks to scan networks, discover hosts, test for vulnerabilities, or find weaknesses in systems that are not yours.
- Keep check frequency and the number of targets within your plan. Do not split one workload across several accounts to get around limits.
Do not use the Service to cause harm
You must not use HopLogs, its checks, screenshots, status pages or alert channels to:
- attack, overload or interfere with any system, including through the volume or frequency of checks;
- send spam or unsolicited messages, including through alert contacts you do not control;
- publish content on status pages that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, infringes someone's rights, or impersonates another person or organisation;
- collect personal data about others without a lawful basis;
- break any law, including export controls and sanctions;
- probe, reverse engineer or bypass the security, limits or billing of the Service itself, except through a coordinated disclosure under our security policy.
Alert contacts
Add only email addresses, chat channels, webhooks and paging services that you control or are allowed to use. We ask email contacts to confirm a code before we send alerts to them.
What we do about misuse
We may limit, suspend or end accounts that break this policy, remove public content, and report illegal activity to the authorities. Where we reasonably can, we will contact you first. To report misuse of HopLogs, write to [contact email not configured].
